MDimune is developing innovative therapeutics to address various unmet medical needs through BioDrone® technology. The BioDrone® technology is a platform technology that enables target specific drug delivery based on nano-sized vesicles derived from cells.
Extracellular vesicles (EVs), especially exosomes, have emerged as a novel therapeutic with their roles in intercellular communications. The tissue targeting properties, biocompatibility, and stability have also highlighted EVs as a next-generation drug delivery system. However, the fact that they only naturally occur in minuscule quantities and the difficulties involved in large-scale production have prevented a rapid progress in the commercialization of EVs. MDimune has developed BioDrone® platform technology to overcome these critical limitations in EV therapeutics. By using the proprietary extrusion process, significantly improved vesicle production is achieved from virtually all cell types.
MDimune is currently collaborating with academic, biotech, and pharmaceutical partners to develop therapeutics in cancer, COPD, and other rare diseases, and is expecting to enter into the clinical phase for BioDrone® technology as early as in 2021. We are also actively seeking global partners to expand their therapeutic applications for various unmet medical needs.
